I had surgery on my foot three weeks ago today. It's much better than pictured, and I'm beginning to walk now, but it's going slow. Don't you like how my doctor made it look so festive for Christmas?
Anyway....
For these three weeks, I've been sitting on my rump much of the day. And this lady cannot sit still without doing something... so I'm planning.
One of our big plans for 2013 is to really watch our budget. I've never gotten into the couponing craze... and certainly never extreme couponing. I have too many things to do in my life to spend 6-8 hours a day matching sales and coupons and trekking all over for the right deals. For those of you that do... great! It's not for me.
One thing we are going to try this year is to get the best deals we can find on Amazon Prime "Subscribe-n-Save" products for convenience sake (and hopefully get it better than regular retail cost.)
I spent one day last week looking through some of our favorite name brands in paper goods, cleaning supplies and even personal/beauty products. For those that aren't familiar with "Subscribe and Save", it is a service by Amazon to send you a product at a regular interval with a 5% savings. You can choose how often to have it shipped, too, and you can skip a delivery if you aren't needing it yet. Granted, I can save 5% with my Target card, and surely much more using coupons or shopping at Costco... but, here's my dilemma.
As organized as I try to be, somehow we are always running out of certain products... especially paper towels and toilet tissue! {I can't possibly be disorganized... I like to blame it on the fact that there are 6 people in various rooms using it up.} When that happens, I call my hubby to pick it up on the way home. Thus we're at the mercy of whatever is on sale (if on sale) at whatever store we pick. Like I said... I am not a coupon or sales wizard.
So, we arranged to have the most commonly used items sent to us at regular intervals: Paper Towels, Toilet Tissue, Dishwasher Liquid, Hand Dish Soap, Hand Soap, Shampoo and Conditioner, Napkins, and more.
Here is the organizer I am using...
It allows me to fill in the information of the things I've ordered and keep track of how often and what months to be expecting them. There is also room for the cost, date of delivery, and a spot to include whatever you'd like to include regarding your Amazon log-in information.
